Position Overview

Role Summary

  • Manage fire safety protocols and fire management across the organization.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in fire safety, providing mentorship to Senior Engineers and leadership teams through expert advice, guidance, and sharing of best practices.
  • Ensure the effective execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive service calls, and additional minor projects, overseeing the administrative and documentation processes until job completion.
  • Guarantee adherence to all legal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise to ensure all fire and life safety system statutory obligations are met.
  • Maintain accurate and transparent records of all fire-related documentation.
  • Achieve outcomes with clients in line with established operational performance goals, in collaboration with the client’s fire technical authority.
  • Ensure that processes are established and functioning effectively to enhance customer satisfaction within the scope of oversight.
  • Promote a customer-centric service culture that emphasizes excellence in delivery, working alongside operational teams to resolve any issues.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify additional opportunities for profitable service delivery.
  • Lead initiatives to review processes, resources, and site operations, conducting gap analyses and recommending business improvements.
  • Conduct audits of contractors regarding fire safety performance, reporting and escalating any issues to the central contracts manager.
  • Advise the training manager to ensure that technical and operational teams are trained and compliant with fire safety protocols.
  • Perform investigations and root cause analyses for any incidents related to fire safety.
  • Support and lead all internal and external audits concerning fire safety criteria.
  • Coordinate impairment notifications and communications in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a comparable position.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience specifically in fire safety.
  • Possession of a formal fire safety qualification.
  • Experience with fire life safety systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of statutory requirements related to fire assets.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • High level of literacy.
  • Assertiveness to ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail in all tasks performed.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills for both personal and work environments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
