Job Title: Classroom Support

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Motherwell, is seeking a Classroom Support worker to join their team. This is a part-time contract until June 2025, with a rate of £14.70/hour PAYE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide classroom support for learners to enable access to the curriculum, including notetaking, prompting, reading, and scribing.
  • Assist with assessment and exam arrangement support as required.
  • Monitor learner support needs and organise technical/classroom support to meet service requirements.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to facilitate student learning and ensure learners have access to assistive technology and resources.
  • Support learners in using equipment and assistive software, and maintain appropriate records and reporting procedures.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of statistics to support monitoring, review, and evaluation of the service provided by the College.
  • Encourage learners to be independent and effective within the College and community.
Essential Skills:
  • Previous experience of working with people with disabilities or other support needs.
  • Experience of working in an educational environment.
  • HNC level qualification or educational comparability.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Strong communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Able to prioritise workload.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience of working with a 16+ client group.
  • Experience of note taking.
