Role Overview: Principal Subsea Systems Engineer In the capacity of Principal Subsea Systems Engineer at Worley, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all pertinent information is integrated into subsea system field development, including subsea hardware such as subsea trees and manifolds, along with associated reports, philosophies, and specifications. This encompasses procurement, installation, and pre-commissioning activities, extending from the early conceptual stages of a project through to installation and commissioning. You will also play a vital role in supporting proposals, tenders, and bid clarifications, while contributing to the promotion of innovative design methodologies and technologies across various project phases. Client engagement will be a significant aspect of your role, as you will often lead key meetings and facilitate discussions on subsea development. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Directing discussions on subsea field developments and determining flow requirements, thereby defining the subsea system from the Christmas Tree to the product delivery point, including controls definitions and requirements.
  2. Evaluating and providing feedback on Subsea Controls, Instrumentation, and Equipment & Systems Documents and drawings prepared for specific projects at any necessary phase (Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design).
  3. Analyzing feasibility and assessing solutions to ensure asset operation from topsides/FPSO/Plant/Terminal, collaborating with discipline engineers, control systems, process safety, and project requirements.
  4. Conducting assessments of modifications needed and tie-ins to existing infrastructure, including MEG and chemical distribution, operational remediation works, and subsea control systems.
  5. Contributing to deliverables such as Overall Technical Reports, Basis of Design, and Scopes of Work.
  6. Participating in Project workshops and design/construction reviews, while initiating and driving HAZOP and constructability/installability requirements.
  7. Possessing familiarity with subsea hardware and production systems, SIL ratings, interfaces, connector systems, pressure control systems, flow conditions, hydrate formation and remediation, as well as specifications and requirements for valves and fittings.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of subsea engineering principles.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the processes involved in developing a subsea field through various phases.
  4. Familiarity with subsea hardware and the different types of production systems.
  5. Professional (or seeking professional) engineering status.
  6. Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with engineers of varying seniority, technical expertise, and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating a proactive approach to achieving objectives, and exhibiting a collaborative, can-do attitude.
