About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Hatchery Operative to join our team at Avara Foods, a leading food business in the UK. As a Hatchery Operative, you will play a crucial role in the daily duties of our hatchery, assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines.

Working Hours:
36 hours per week on a 3-week rota, with shifts between Monday and Saturday.
About the Role:
As a Hatchery Operative, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machines
- Moving 10kg trays of eggs into the egg trolleys
- Checking eggs for any defects
- Moving eggs from incubating machines to hatching machines effectively
- Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
- Safeguarding biosecurity and following strict procedures
- Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times
Requirements:
- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
- Previous experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided
