Maintenance Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Avara Foods, a leading food business in the UK. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hatchery equipment and associated plant and ancillary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair hatchery machinery and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure
- Carry out ongoing improvement projects to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Work independently in farm buildings and use own initiative to prioritize workload
Requirements:
- Qualified in a relevant engineering trade
- Broad understanding of mechanical processes and mechanical assemblies
- Good understanding of facilities maintenance, including welding and fabrication, plumbing and pipe fitting
- Good team player with effective communication skills
- Committed and reliable with a flexible attitude
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 15:30 (75 minutes daily total unpaid break) with occasional callouts at £25 per call out plus hours worked at time and half

We are a fully integrated business controlling the whole product supply chain, which includes feed mills, farms, hatcheries and factories with associated transport and logistics functions that employ more than 7000 people.
Due to Bird Welfare, it is essential that you do not own any Avian Pets or Poultry.
