Job Title: Clinical Psychologist - CAMHS Inpatient Unit

This is an exciting opportunity to join our CAMHS Inpatient Unit, The Beacon Centre, as a Clinical Psychologist. The unit provides services to young people on the edge of crisis or in crisis, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced psychologist to join our dynamic therapies team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychological assessments, formulations, and care planning with young people in mental health crisis.
  • Deliver individual and group psychologically informed interventions, either jointly with the therapies team or autonomously.
  • Engage young people on the ward and implement cognitive-behavioural and emotional regulation approaches to improve their well-being and functioning.
  • Support with risk assessment and safety planning, in conjunction with the wider inpatient team.
  • Contribute to MDT discussions, formulations, and CPD sessions, and provide teaching and consultation to other staff.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology.
  • Professional Registration with HCPC to qualify as a Clinical Psychologist in the UK.
  • Further training in CBT, DBT, or other relevant interventions for the client group.
  • Experience of working with children and young people, including those at risk to themselves or others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work flexibly and respectfully with others.
