About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Construction Apprentice to join our team at the Canal & River Trust. As a Construction Apprentice, you will play a vital role in maintaining and restoring our waterways, working closely with our construction teams to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repair works across our network, including brickwork, under the guidance of our experienced construction teams.
  • Learn and develop skills across various areas of construction, including bricklaying, to become a multi-skilled tradesperson.
  • Work on sensitive heritage and environmental projects, gaining exposure to conservation and heritage knowledge.
  • Deliver work to the correct standard and agreed programme, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
  • Embed inclusion and diversity into all aspects of Trust life, promoting a culture of respect and equality.

About the Apprenticeship

As a Trust apprentice, you will complete a Bricklaying Apprenticeship, combining on-the-job training with regular attendance at our chosen training provider. You will work with supportive colleagues to build your skills and portfolio, with opportunities to work on projects across our network.

Requirements

Ideally, you should have grade A-C or grade 9-4 in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) already achieved or on target to achieve.
