About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at HMP Oakwood, providing high-quality care and support to individuals within the prison environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions for individuals with mental health needs.
  • Manage a caseload and work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Work with individuals from initial assessment through to discharge, including transferring care to other providers as necessary.

Requirements
  • Professional qualification (Degree & Postgraduate or equivalent) and/or relevant experience in a comparative setting.
  • Evidence of continued development and up-to-date skills base.
  • Sound knowledge of blood-borne viruses and harm reduction approaches.
  • Experience of working with drug and alcohol users and within a prison environment.
