Job Summary:

NHS Lothian is committed to providing high-quality mental health services, and we are seeking a skilled Practice Mental Health Nurse to join our team. As a Practice Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist mental health care to individuals in crisis, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to assess, treat, and review patient care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives on mental health matters.
  • Support the development of mental health services, implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other agencies to provide teaching and supervision to junior staff and students.
  • Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide treatment and support to individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to provide a comprehensive mental health service, including crisis intervention and support.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a specialization in mental health.
  • Experience in providing mental health care to individuals in crisis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of mental health policies, procedures, and guidelines.
