Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced clinical knowledge to inform decision-making and clinical judgment in the assessment, treatment, and review planning process for patients with mental health conditions.
- Provide expert advice to primary care teams and multidisciplinary teams on the management of patient conditions, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Deliver specialist community-based mental health services for individuals in crisis, including those with suicidal and psychotic episodes, and provide referrals to appropriate services as needed.
- Offer specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives on mental health matters.
- Contribute to the development of evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies to improve mental health practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries.
- Provide teaching and supervision to junior staff and students, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements
This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
