Early Years Group Leader Job Description

Barracudas Activity Day Camps is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Group Leader to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of our young campers, while also delivering engaging and educational activities that promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the Early Years Foundation Stages in a fun and engaging way
  • Set up and maintain a safe and inviting base room area
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers
  • Deliver a variety of activity sessions that meet the needs of our campers
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve our goals
  • Act as a Key Worker and maintain accurate records of camper experiences
  • Ensure active supervision and attention to campers at all times
  • Plan and deliver activities that promote learning and development
  • Encourage maximum participation and engagement from all campers
  • Take responsibility for the general welfare and safeguarding of our campers
Requirements:
  • Relevant childcare qualification or working towards one
  • Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Aged 18 or over by the start date of your contract
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
  • Deliver activities that meet the needs of our campers
  • Encourage campers to participate in new activities
  • Ensure campers behave in a safe and respectful manner
  • Follow all camp systems and guidelines
  • Be a positive role model and promote a healthy lifestyle
  • Report any concerns regarding Child Protection
  • Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate campers with additional needs
