Role Overview
As the Transport Training & Compliance Manager, you will assist the National Transport Development Manager in enhancing the skills of all managers within the transport network. A significant aspect of this role involves maintaining compliance with legislative requirements and O'licence knowledge across all locations, including roadworthiness, tachograph compliance, infringement management, and adherence to drivers' hours regulations.
You will be responsible for monitoring changes in transport legislation, ensuring these updates are communicated and implemented across all transport teams nationally. This includes educating colleagues on their legal responsibilities and developing training programs to ensure compliance. Regular monitoring and auditing of transport systems will be part of your duties, including people and asset changes, with corrective actions implemented as necessary.
Collaboration and Training
You will play a vital role in the National Transport Development management team, collaborating with peers in Quality, Driver Training, and Talent & Development to design and deliver training for operational and fleet Transport Managers & Coordinators. This includes transport-related training and familiarization with processes, policies, and systems such as Continuum, Tachomaster, Microlise, and FMS/TMS. Additionally, you will develop an onboarding process for transport staff nationwide, traveling across the distribution network to coach teams and ensure a unified message.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a Transport Manager with a National CPC and operational experience in a large, complex distribution environment. A strong understanding of transport compliance and systems is essential, along with a commitment to continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and methodical, with a proven ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization to influence positive change. Excellent communication skills are crucial, enabling you to create and deliver training sessions tailored to the audience's size, experience, and knowledge level, ensuring a consistent standard across the Transport operation.
