Transport Operations Manager

Uniserve Holdings Limited is seeking a skilled and dedicated Transport Shift Manager to oversee our South Kirkby Depot. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the effective management of all Drivers and Admin staff at the depot.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement cost-effective transport plans, ensuring compliance with the Working Time Directive and Drivers Hours regulations.
- Lead the transport planning team, directing and controlling their activities to achieve optimal results.
- Collaborate with branch teams and customers to deliver exceptional logistics services and address any issues.
- Monitor transport management software to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as a crucial link between them and our operational teams.
- Ensure the department consistently delivers a top-notch service to customers through meticulous planning and execution.
- Maintain strict adherence to budget constraints and ensure departmental compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Assist in project work to optimise schedules and synergies, driving continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in a distribution environment, with a strong understanding of transport legislation.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly in Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- A self-driven and highly motivated work ethic, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate the depot's 24/7 operating hours, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets consistently.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a team player mentality and a commitment to fostering collaboration and unity.
