Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Care Team Leader to join our team at Hull City Council. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for leading a shift and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rota manage a team of care staff to ensure effective delivery of care and support services.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of adults in our care, ensuring their rights and dignity are respected at all times.
  • Supervise and mentor care staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality care.
  • Conduct performance and probation reviews to ensure staff are meeting the required standards.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of adults in our care.
  • Facilitate best interest reviews to ensure the needs and wishes of adults are respected.
  • Oversee and monitor care and support plans to ensure they are effective and meet the needs of adults in our care.
  • Ensure that our care home's policies and procedures meet the required standards of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Complete records in relation to accidents, incidents, and complaints in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Carry out investigations into accidents and incidents to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a caring and compassionate approach to care and support.
  • Ensure that medication is administered in accordance with our policies and procedures, and oversee stock control to ensure that all necessary supplies are available.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent. You will also need to have substantial experience of working in a care or support setting, and be able to demonstrate a natural leadership style and a passion for delivering high-quality care and support.
