About the Role
The Undergraduate Industrial Placement Materials Scientist role at Viatris is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our Global Respiratory Group and contribute to the development of respiratory medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out analytical activities to deliver new respiratory products to clinical studies and commercialization.
- Execute experiments to generate scientific understanding in the development of analytical methods, formulations, and processes.
- Perform analyses related to clinical supplies, stability, and process scale-up.
- Process data, highlighting aberrant or suspect results and work with a supervisor to investigate.
- Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with good documentation practices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation.
- Contribute to project delivery by carrying out other tasks as required.
About Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A strong foundation in analytical chemistry and a related degree program.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for working in a lab-based role.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and/or experience of modern instrumental methods of analysis.
- Experience or knowledge in development and testing of inhalation products.
- Good understanding of laboratory safety and best practice.
- Knowledge of cGMP.
