Team Leader Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our dynamic logistics team in Berkshire. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the shift, ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse, and driving continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of operatives and agency staff to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse
  • Utilize systems such as JD Edwards, Excel, Webfocus, and Outlook to manage daily operations
  • Oversee replenishment, DRP, picking, packing, returns, and shipping processes
  • Manage resource requirements based on forecasts and complete daily booking of agency staff
  • Ensure accurate reporting and payment of staff hours
  • Monitor and report any deviations from the plan to the Supervisor or Ops Manager
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with internal and external customers
  • Encourage continuous improvement of procedures and ensure Quality, Health & Safety, and operational procedures are maintained
  • Develop the team through conducting annual reviews, regular performance conversations, and ad hoc training
Requirements:
  • Experience supervising a team in a warehouse or distribution centre
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Extensive technical knowledge within E-commerce and distribution
  • JDE/WMS/ADP knowledge required
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft programs
  • Flexible approach to work, including weekends and overtime as needed
