Position: SEN Primary Educator

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled SEN Primary Educator with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to become an integral part of our committed team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in providing customized teaching and assistance to students with various Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring that each child receives the focused attention and opportunities essential for their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate engaging lessons that address the varied learning requirements and capabilities of students with SEN, including those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and specific learning challenges.
  • Adapt and modify the national curriculum to align with the individualized education plans (IEPs) and learning objectives of students with SEN, promoting their academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Employ a range of teaching methods, resources, and assistive technologies to motivate and support students in their educational journey, ensuring all learners have access to the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with SEN Coordinators, teaching assistants, and other professionals to foster a nurturing and inclusive educational atmosphere that enhances the well-being and development of students with SEN.
  • Continuously assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to guide instructional planning, intervention strategies, and IEP evaluations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and caregivers, offering regular updates on student progress and encouraging their involvement in their child's educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and prior experience in a primary school environment are essential.
  • Specialization or experience in SEN, including training in supporting students with ASD, ADHD, and other SEN conditions, is highly advantageous.
  • A comprehensive understanding of SEN legislation, best practices in inclusive education, and effective techniques for assisting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to enhance teaching and learning outcomes for students with SEN.
