Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Business Analyst to join our team at Bank of America. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for supporting analytical work efforts for various projects within our business discipline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the extraction of data using various programming languages, such as SQL, SAS, Python, or Spark/Scala, and apply knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems.
  • Connect provisioned data across multiple sources and perform necessary transformations utilizing technical, business, and process knowledge.
  • Perform quantitative techniques and analysis on customer, transaction, and performance data, providing actionable insights for business partners to make informed decisions.
  • Follow requirements developed by other analysts and supervisors to perform required research, analytics, and exploration on appropriate and accurate data sources.
  • Communicate complex subjects in a simple and engaging manner to non-technical and technical business partners using software such as Power Point, Word, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Assist with conducting quality comparison checks on analysis output and escalate data inconsistencies, gaps, or issues to leadership.
  • Follow quality workflow process and documentation requirements to adhere to standards and provide business continuity.
LOB Specific Information

As a Quantitative Business Analyst, you will be responsible for capturing, documenting, and maintaining data use inventory for the Consumer & Small Business Anti-Money Laundering organization as part of Client Protection.

This includes engaging with model and strategy teams, capturing data use at the data element level, and working with Inventory management leader to ensure oversight of data use change governance.

You will collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to understand and assess their data, processes, and technology to support strategic data initiatives, remediate deficiencies, and drive business requirements.

The Analyst will work with the Inventory Management Leader to:

  • Consult with data stewards, process owners, subject matter experts, technical experts, end users, and other stakeholders to gather information about the current and target state business process, data attributes, and data sources.
  • Document and provide definitions for processes and procedures, data models, data quality controls, data lineage, and data dictionaries using industry standard methods.
  • Analyze information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, segment high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Assess and identify deficiencies against internal policies and standards or industry best practices, providing formal recommendations and requirements to remediate.
  • Collaborate and partner with technology teams, architects, and other key stakeholders to drive solutions that provide ongoing operational excellence and resiliency to metadata and control environment challenges.
  • Review and provide input to technical solution designs from a business point of view and recommend alternatives.
  • Communicate plans, progress, and risks appropriately to the stakeholders and sponsors.
LOB Required Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with technology applications using relational databases and/or rule engines.
  • Understanding of metadata and data supply chains.
  • Understanding of ETL processes.
  • Experience with metadata and metadata applications.
  • Experience with data application mapping (inflows and outflows).
  • Experience with relational databases, file systems, and reading & writing code (e.g. SAS, SQL).
  • Documentation experience and building standardized templates, outputs.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: data intelligence/analytics, data management, data governance, data supply chain, data quality management, and/or data architecture.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data management and data concepts.
  • Client engagement skills.
  • Independent and proactive analyst.
  • Excellent communication skills and influencer.
  • Develops and continuously improves procedure-driven functions to demonstrate sustainability, repeatability, and defensibility of program.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office applications.
LOB Desired Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following desired qualifications:

  • Experience with data mapping between applications using disparate metadata documentation.
  • Experience with metadata intelligence application (i.e. MetaPortal, Collibra).
  • Understanding of enterprise ADS internal architecture designs (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Experience reading and writing Python code.
  • Financial services expertise.
  • Subject matter expertise in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions.
Work Environment

This role will be based in the United States of America and will require working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
