Position Overview


This role is dedicated to facilitating analytical initiatives across various projects within a specific Line of Business or operational domain. The primary focus is on utilizing databases to gather client and performance metrics, converting the extracted information into actionable insights and trends, and presenting these findings to leadership for informed decision-making. Expectations include collaborating with business stakeholders to comprehend, coordinate, and fulfill agreed priorities while effectively communicating complex data outputs and delivering necessary summaries and analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aids in the extraction of data through diverse programming languages, including SQL, SAS, Python, or Spark/Scala, while applying expertise in both relational and non-relational database systems across hybrid platforms.
  • Integrates data from multiple sources and executes required transformations, leveraging technical, business, and procedural knowledge to derive meaningful insights.
  • Conducts quantitative analyses on customer, transaction, and performance data under the guidance of senior analysts, addressing inquiries from business partners and delivering actionable insights.
  • Adheres to requirements established by senior analysts to perform necessary research, analytics, and exploration on suitable data sources to produce accurate deliverables.
  • Communicates intricate topics in a clear and engaging manner to both technical and non-technical business partners using tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Assists in executing quality assurance checks on analytical outputs and escalates any data inconsistencies or issues to management.
  • Complies with quality workflow processes and documentation standards to ensure business continuity.

Additional Information:

This position involves documenting and maintaining data usage inventory as part of the Client Protection initiative within the Consumer & Small Business Anti-Money Laundering framework. Responsibilities include collaborating with model and strategy teams, capturing data usage at the element level, and working with inventory management leaders to ensure governance over data usage changes.

The Analyst will partner with Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to assess their data, processes, and technology, supporting strategic data initiatives and addressing deficiencies.

The Analyst will work closely with the Inventory Management Leader to:

  • Consult with stakeholders to gather information about current and target state business processes, data attributes, and control features.
  • Document and define processes, data models, data quality controls, and data dictionaries using standard methods.
  • Analyze information from various sources, reconcile conflicts, and abstract high-level information into a general understanding.
  • Identify deficiencies against internal policies and industry best practices, providing recommendations for remediation.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to drive solutions that enhance operational excellence.
  • Review technical solution designs from a business perspective and suggest alternatives.
  • Communicate plans, progress, and risks to stakeholders effectively.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with technology applications using relational databases and/or rule engines.
  • Strong understanding of metadata and data supply chains.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes.
  • Experience with metadata applications.
  • Proficient in data application mapping.
  • Experience with relational databases and coding (e.g., SAS, SQL).
  • Documentation experience and creating standardized outputs.
  • Expertise in data intelligence/analytics, data management, and data governance.
  • Understanding of data governance and quality management concepts.
  • Strong client engagement skills.
  • Proactive and independent analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to develop and improve procedure-driven functions for sustainability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with data mapping between applications.
  • Familiarity with metadata intelligence applications.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture designs.
