- Identify potential opportunities and risks, and evaluate options to ensure the best outcome.
- Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates for tender applications and first principal estimates.
- Prepare and submit tender queries and clarifications to ensure clarity and understanding.
- Prepare and submit subcontract enquiries in line with company processes and procedures.
- Review subcontract tender submissions for compliance and inclusion into the estimate.
- Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements to ensure adherence.
- Prepare detailed cost budgets and estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare detailed proposals that meet client guidelines and specifications, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Ensure all proposals and estimate deadlines are met, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to maximize customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms.
- Experience in managing junior estimators, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Cost management and control, ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
- Report writing and presentation, communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of concrete preservation and repair, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Health and safety knowledge, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
- Concrete repairs and geotechnical tender background, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Network Rail/Highways England tender background, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Concrete repair estimating experience, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
