Senior Estimator Role Overview- Ensure all tender correspondence is accurately recorded and logged in a centralized system.
- Conduct a thorough review of tender documentation to provide informed feasibility advice.
- Coordinate the preparation of tender documents submitted by various departments, ensuring they meet the client's requirements.
- Ensure estimates for work take into account relevant legislation and industry standards on health, safety, quality, and environment.
- Prepare comprehensive information on technical and commercial aspects for submission.
- Identify potential opportunities and risks, and evaluate options to inform decision-making.
- Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates for tender applications and first principal estimates.
- Prepare and submit tender queries and clarifications in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit subcontract enquiries in accordance with company processes.
- Review subcontract tender submissions for compliance and inclusion in the estimate.
- Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements.
- Develop detailed cost budgets and estimates for projects.
- Prepare detailed proposals that adhere to client guidelines and specifications.
- Ensure all proposals and estimate deadlines are met, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Foster strong relationships with existing clients to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms.
- Experience in managing junior estimators is essential.
- Cost management and control.
- Report writing and presentation.
- Knowledge of concrete preservation and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Health and safety knowledge and compliance.
- Concrete repairs and geotechnical tender experience is desirable.
- Network Rail and Highways England tender experience is desirable.
- Concrete repair estimating experience is desirable.
- Competitive salary up to £65,000.00.
