Senior Estimator Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing detailed cost budgets and estimates for projects, ensuring client guidelines and specifications are adhered to.

The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing detailed proposals, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and managing junior estimators. Additionally, proficiency in cost management report writing, knowledge of concrete preservation and repair, and IT literacy are essential requirements.

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing detailed cost budgets and estimates for projects.
  2. Preparing detailed proposals ensuring client guidelines and specifications are adhered to.
  3. Maintaining relationships with existing clients to maximise customer satisfaction.
  4. Maintaining records of all estimation documentation including site assessment and contract terms.
  5. Managing junior estimators.
  6. Preparing cost management reports.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, company car and mobile phone, annual performance-related bonus, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and flexible hours and remote working options. Additionally, acceptance into our Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) after one year of continuous service and option for a seat on the board of Directors for the right candidate.

Senior Estimator Requirements
  1. Experience in preparing detailed cost budgets and estimates for projects.
  2. Ability to prepare detailed proposals ensuring client guidelines and specifications are adhered to.
  3. Ensure all proposals and estimate deadlines are met.
  4. Maintain relationships with existing clients to maximise customer satisfaction.
  5. Maintain records of all estimation documentation including site assessment and contract terms.
  6. Experience managing junior estimators.
  7. Proficient in cost management report writing.
  8. Knowledge of concrete preservation and repair.
  9. IT literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.
  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Health and safety knowledge.
  12. Concrete repairs and geotechnical tender background (desirable).
  13. Network Rail/Highways England tender background (desirable).
  14. Concrete repair estimating experience (desirable).
Senior Estimator Remuneration

Competitive Salary - up to £65,000.00
