Job Title: Adult Phlebotomist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Phlebotomist to join our team at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by collecting blood samples from inpatients and outpatients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venepuncture techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues to ensure accurate identification and labeling of samples.
  • Work collaboratively with the Phlebotomy team to provide a seamless service across various locations within and remote from the Trust.
  • Participate in the day-to-day management of stock control and usage to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Assist in the introduction of new processes and systems to improve the phlebotomy service.
Requirements:
  • GCSE in Maths and English, Grade A - C or equivalent.
  • NVQ Training.
  • Understanding of role and activities associated with the post.
  • Knowledge of Pathology IT systems.
  • Previous relevant experience or working in the NHS.
