Job Title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) to provide daily support to an 80-year-old lady with mobility issues in Weston Longville. The successful candidate will work in a job-share arrangement, providing 27.5 hours of support per week.

Job Purpose:

  • To provide daily support and assistance to the lady, including personal care, domestic tasks, and social activities.
  • To maintain a safe and tidy home environment.
  • To support the lady in getting out and about, including shopping and social activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, and catheter care.
  • Support with domestic tasks, such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Prepare meals to support a diabetic diet.
  • Accompany the lady on social activities and outings.
  • Use a hoist to transfer the lady from her wheelchair to bed, toilet, etc.

Person Specification:

  • Well-organised and reliable individual.
  • Some knowledge or experience with catheter care and use of hoists.
  • Flexible and available for evening and weekend work.
  • Driver with own car and relevant business insurance.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour.
  • Hours and times of work: 27.5 hours per week, including 2 visits daily and 3.5 hours per week for social activities.
  • 5.6 weeks paid leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays.
  • Free Careskills Training and additional training support as required.

The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
