About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Staff Nurse to join our team at Compass. As a School Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, working closely with health, education, and other partners to provide an effective programme of prevention and support to school-aged children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the service to deliver the Healthy Child Programme, working with children, young people, and families to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Carry out a range of assessments, interventions, and public health initiatives, working both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the family.
- Provide information, advice, and support to deliver an effective service that makes a difference, prioritizing the wellbeing of children, young people, and families.
- Work creatively to meet each individual's needs and make every interaction meaningful, promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of every school-age child and young person.
Requirements
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Relevant experience of working with children, young people, and families
- Working in teams
- Delivering interventions on a 1:1 and/or group basis
- Managing a caseload
- Safeguarding children and adults guidance and legislation
- Developmental needs of children and young people
- Equality and diversity guidance and legislation
- Confidentiality, consent, and mental capacity
- Risk-taking behavior and the resulting problems
- Mental and emotional health and wellbeing
- Data Protection guidance and legislation
- Computer packages, including Microsoft Office, and use of electronic patient record systems
- Flexible approach to working outside normal office hours (evenings and weekends) or at different venues, depending on service need
- Full UK driving license and access to vehicle
- Able to undertake the demands of the post with reasonable adjustments where required
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information and maintain discretion and confidentiality
Desirable Qualifications
- RN Dip HE Child/RSCN
- Community experience
