Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Practitioner to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Associate Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting our registered Biomedical Scientists within the histopathology laboratory.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our Biomedical Scientists, including embedding and microtomy, and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a busy and dynamic environment.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory sciences, with experience of working in a histopathology or similar pathology environment. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Education, Qualifications and Training
The successful candidate will hold a NVQ Level 3 in laboratory sciences or equivalent, with additional theoretical or applied training in specific discipline.
Experience and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an NHS pathology laboratory, with knowledge, competence and understanding of the role of histopathology in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
