Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced social workers to join our Children and Young People Team on a permanent basis. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will work with our client in Barnsley, providing high-quality services to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with children and families to elicit their needs and views, promoting participation in decision-making and effective communication in challenging circumstances.
  • Ensure statutory responsibilities are met and quality practice standards are achieved, delivering high-quality services to children and young people.
  • Undertake assessments in accordance with statutory and operational standards, policy, and procedures, maintaining expertise in specialist assessment and intervention.
  • Plan, implement, and review interventions for service users, promoting the use of evidence and theory to support practice in complex circumstances.
  • Manage a complex workload with autonomy, developing and maintaining a network of internal and external colleagues.
  • Make proactive use of supervision to extend effective practice, reflection, and career development.
  • Provide professional, reflective supervision and support to staff, contributing to the development of a culture of learning within the team and wider service.
  • Apply concepts of holistic assessment of professional capability in contributing to appraisals of staff development.
  • Participate and lead in project and development work to promote innovation and excellence.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records safely and confidentially, contributing to the evaluation and analysis of recording and the use of information systems to inform good practice.
