Job Description

Job Title: Programme Manager

Job Summary:

Capita is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the planning, structuring, and direction of a divisional programme of work. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing interrelated projects from contract initiation to final operational stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Planning and Direction: Develop and implement programme plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of business benefits.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of programme managers and project managers to achieve programme objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks and issues to ensure programme delivery.
  • Benefits Realisation: Ensure that programme benefits are realised and that programme management is informed by an awareness of current technical developments.

Requirements:

  • Strong Programme Management Experience: Proven experience of managing large-scale programmes with multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Prince 2 Certification: Prince 2 certification or equivalent is required.
  • Core Infrastructure Experience: Experience of managing infrastructure and cloud projects.
  • Project Management and Leadership Skills: Proven project management and leadership skills, with a good knowledge of business analysis.
  • Business Case Development and Approvals: Experience of developing and managing business cases and obtaining approvals.
  • Procurement and Negotiation: Knowledge of procurement processes and negotiation with third parties.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Seniority and Credibility: Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the programme.

  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Project and programme and project management methods.
