Production Assembler

Job Summary:

The Production Assembler will be responsible for building mechanical and electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build mechanical and electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
  • Upgrade and repair mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Test assembled products.
  • Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers, and verniers.
  • Solder small components.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical tests as defined in process control documents.
  • Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • Provide information and assistance to customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Carry out all activities in a timely manner to meet company manufacturing targets.
  • Take on ad-hoc duties, including training colleagues and secondments to other departments.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Undertake training identified as a requirement of the role.
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests made by the role manager or directors.
  • Be flexible and provide support outside of normal tasks during periods of reduced department staff attendance.

Professional Knowledge and Experience:

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
  • Ability to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Knowledge of tools, such as circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, and Swiss files.
  • Soldering skills on small components.
  • Skills in the use of machines, lathes, and drills.
  • Brazing desirable.
  • Previous experience in a production environment, assembling electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience in assembling small components, such as model kits or other small component assembly.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Methodical and logical approach.
  • Good time management.
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Professional.
  • Handles pressure well.

Standard Company Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for understanding the Business Management System and its application to the role.
