Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Assembler to join our team at AMETEK. As an Electronics Assembler, you will be responsible for building electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
  • Inspect and test finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
  • Maintain equipment used in electronic assembly.

Key Duties:

  • Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
  • Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors, and/or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
  • Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers, and verniers.
  • Assemble and test electronic components and systems according to specifications, ensuring they meet quality standards and function properly.
  • Conducting tests and inspections to identify and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • Provide information or assistance to customers, suppliers, and visitors from other companies within our group of companies.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affect the quality or output of the product.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided.
  • Carry out all activities in a timely manner to ensure company manufacturing targets are achieved.
  • Take on ad hoc duties, including training colleagues and brief secondments to other departments.

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and/or CMMs and/or SOPs.
  • Ability to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Experience in electronic assembly.
  • Familiarity with electronic components.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of electronic assembly tooling.
  • Soldering skills on small components.
  • Experience in assembling small components, such as model kits or other small component assembly.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Methodical/logical.
  • Good time management.
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Professional.
  • Handles pressure well.
  • Basic IT skills.

Standard Company Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for understanding the Business Management System and how it is applied to the role.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Bring to the attention of the manager any issues that could potentially affect the business.
  • Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures and the Business Management System.
