Unqualified Mental Health and Wellbeing Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Unqualified Mental Health and Wellbeing Assistant at an Outstanding Primary School in the Borough of Lewisham.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a school setting, working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As an Unqualified Mental Health and Wellbeing Assistant, you will work closely with teaching professionals and support staff to provide individualized support to students, assist with lesson planning, and contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Assist class teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Report feedback to class teachers and contribute to student progress
  • Set and work towards targets aimed at individual pupil development
  • Plan and run 1:1 and small group sessions
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic background, previous school-based experience, and a sufficient understanding of SEN and SEMH needs.

A committed and driven individual with a passion for learning and making a positive difference in the lives of students is essential for this role.

What We Offer

This is a long-term, full-time role with opportunities for permanent positions or teacher training.

Competitive daily rate: £105 - £110

Monday to Friday, no weekends
