About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Family Solutions. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting age-appropriate meals for children in our nursery and preschool settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present healthy and nutritious meals for children, with minimal food waste.
  • Ensure all dietary requirements are met and communicated effectively to the team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Support nursery activities, such as BBQs and fetes, and participate in staff meetings.
  • Manage stock levels and record keeping, in line with company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating and child welfare.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
