About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician to join our team in the Oxford area. As an ICA Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, working closely with our multi-disciplinary team to maintain and repair complex systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on defective equipment, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Install, modify, and commission new plant equipment, diagnosing and repairing faults in systems and plants, and implementing cost-effective improvements to assets and systems.
  • Investigate plant failures, identifying root causes and implementing subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support to colleagues, ensuring up-to-date technical knowledge and expertise.
Requirements
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication network systems, as well as instrumentation including flow, level, pressure, and other related technologies.
  • Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs) and other starting methods for motors/pumps.
  • Qualifications in an instrumentation, control, and automation discipline, such as HNC, City and Guilds Part 2, or NVQ level 3.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces, with successful completion of relevant training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • Base location in either Bicester or Witney, with a company van provided.
  • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 3:36 pm.
  • Annual leave - 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with length of service, plus bank holidays.
  • Contributory pension scheme, with maximum employee contribution of 12%.
  • Personal medical assessments and wider benefits scheme, including our benefits hub.
