About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Meat Cutter. As a key member of our butchery team, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of butchery production, packing, and cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the butchery team with meat production, packing, and cleaning.
  • Prepare meat and products for sale.
  • Assist with butchery displays and ensure signage is accurate and attractive.
  • Contribute to general retail duties.
  • Greet and engage with customers, providing advice and answering questions.
  • Assist with stock control rotation.
  • Accept deliveries of large carcasses, involving heavy lifting.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation controls.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area.

Requirements

  • Good standard of English and Maths.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Good attention to detail and passion for food.
  • Physical fitness and strength, with ability to lift and carry.
  • Trustworthiness and high standards of appearance.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Keen and enthusiastic approach to teamwork and independent work.

Training and Qualifications

  • Cert - FDQ Level 2 Certificate for Proficiency in Meat and Poultry Industry Skills.
