Position Overview

The Assistant IT Training Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of the training team.

Serve as a key resource for expert advice and insights on development opportunities at individual, team, and organizational levels.

Assess, design, implement, and evaluate training programs for Trust personnel, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of service quality and best practices.

Offer training support and guidance for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) initiatives within the organization. This encompasses business transformation, benefit realization, and system configuration assistance.

Responsible for the supervision, mentoring, and support of team members within the Training Department, as well as stepping in for the IT Training Coordinator when necessary.

Deliver training and educational resources in ICT to healthcare professionals across the organization, including external partners who are integral to patient care through the use of the Trust's clinical systems. This includes routine training that supports compliance with mandatory training requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Joining the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire IT Learning and Development Team presents an exciting opportunity, especially with the rollout of a new Electronic Patient Record system. You will play a vital role in empowering our clinical staff to prioritize patient care.

Assist the IT Training Coordinator in guiding the team towards the execution of the digital strategy for the Trust, as well as managing the team's daily operations.

This position offers a job share arrangement, with regular working days scheduled for Thursday and Friday each week, allowing for some flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training aligns with Trust and NHS policies and regulations.
  2. Provide expert guidance and address complex inquiries related to ICT training, development opportunities, and learning requirements, with sensitivity as needed.
  3. Evaluate and identify training needs at the individual, departmental, and organizational levels.
  4. Oversee the creation and delivery of system training required for routine operations and as a result of IT project implementations, involving coordination with relevant System Managers.
  5. Develop and maintain innovative training materials, leveraging available technologies, including blended learning methods.
  6. Manage the assessment and evaluation of competencies to ensure access to clinical systems is granted only to staff who demonstrate adequate understanding.
  7. Establish a comprehensive support facility within ICT Training to assist users in effectively utilizing available applications.
  8. Ensure the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for training delivery.
  9. Act as a deputy for the IT Training Coordinator as required.
