Position Overview:

The role of the Engineering Stores Manager is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our inventory and supply chain processes.

As a professional with extensive experience in inventory oversight and operational efficiency, you are equipped to enhance our logistics framework and maintain optimal stock levels.

Your attention to detail and understanding of engineering demands enable you to implement effective storage solutions and ensure that essential components are readily available, thereby minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
  • Maintain precise inventory records while ensuring stock levels are optimized.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to uphold inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock consumption and adjust inventory accordingly to meet demand.
  • Facilitate timely replenishment of stock to align with operational needs.
  • Document and track stock movements within the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
  • Inspect incoming stock for quality assurance and compliance with standards.
  • Utilize computerized systems for inventory data entry and record maintenance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address delivery issues, shortages, or damaged goods.
  • Identify and implement improvements in stock management processes.

Logistics Management:
  • Oversee both in-house drivers and third-party logistics providers.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide real-time updates to customers and installation teams regarding delivery statuses.

Procurement Duties:
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of necessary materials and components.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Storage and Distribution:
  • Organize and maintain storage areas for optimal access and space utilization.
  • Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming materials.
  • Coordinate the distribution of materials to the engineering teams as required.

Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and train store personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment.

Process Modernization:
  • Assess current systems and processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Redesign processes as necessary to align with industry best practices.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to enhance service delivery.

Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the team.

Reporting Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present reports on inventory status and procurement activities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for operational improvement.
