Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing.
  • Manage filing duties, including daily organization and oversight of client files.
  • Coordinate appointments and oversee the diaries of fee earners.
  • Offer assistance to fellow secretaries and the administrative team.
  • Engage with clients both in person and via telephone, providing professional and courteous support.
  • Participate in specific training as needed and take responsibility for personal development.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all firm and client documentation and information.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a legal secretary.
  • Excellent command of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong audio typing skills (65+ wpm is advantageous).
  • Experience in a Personal Injury law firm or civil litigation practice.
  • Familiarity with Proclaim case management system is a plus.
  • Experience with digital dictation, preferably Big Hand.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: £27,000-£30,000 (based on experience)
  • Working Hours: Standard hours are 8:30am-5:30pm (Mon-Thu) and 8:30am-5pm (Fri); flexible/reduced hours can be considered.
  • Remote Work: 3/2 alternate remote working schedule after probation.
  • Holidays: 23 days, increasing to 26 days with service, plus bank holidays. Includes 3 holiday buybacks per year and an additional day for your birthday after 2 years.
  • Health Benefits: Private medical insurance after 2 years.
  • Training & Development: 3 appraisals annually; active training culture and diversity initiatives.
