Position Overview
The Field Examiner for Asset-Based Lending ("ABL") is responsible for conducting a comprehensive range of due diligence tasks across the UK, Europe, and APAC, primarily focused on asset-backed financing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Due diligence is typically executed at the client's site for financing facilities that can range from £1 million to over £1 billion.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to analyze and synthesize data with meticulous attention to detail, complemented by exceptional written, numerical, and verbal communication skills.

Core Duties Include:

  • Gathering and analyzing client accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable data alongside historical performance metrics.
  • Conducting thorough testing and valuation of collateral securing loans for both existing and prospective borrowers, identifying any significant credit risks, discrepancies, and formulating conclusions or recommendations.
  • Assessing accounting system controls, ensuring data integrity, and evaluating managerial oversight.
  • For current facilities, verifying that essential controls are established for precise collateral reporting.
  • Preparing or validating borrowing base calculations for new and existing lending facilities.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders and client management, from operational teams to executive leadership.
  • Documenting findings in workpapers and comprehensive reports, aiding clients in making informed credit decisions.

Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional service environment related to audit, banking, or insolvency.
  • The capability to process data and articulate findings with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding report writing and communication abilities.
  • The capacity for critical thinking in a dynamic work environment.
  • A keen intellectual curiosity and the ability to devise innovative solutions to potential challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; additional skills in SQL or other programming languages are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster relationships.
  • The ability to engage professionally with clients and senior management.
  • A willingness to travel as necessary across the UK, Europe, and APAC.
