Job Title: Year 1 Classroom Support Assistant

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

Location: Mainstream Primary School

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Erdington. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general classroom support to a Year 1 class, as well as providing one-to-one support to a child with suspected Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general classroom support to a Year 1 class, including assisting with lesson planning and delivery
  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with suspected Autism, including developing and implementing individualized support plans
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure the smooth running of the classroom
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and materials
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to support children with special educational needs

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ/CACHE preferable)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis
  • Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum
  • Recent primary school experience within the last 2 years
