Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform Specialist

Location: Remote (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 p/a

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our client, a leading product and software business, in the development of a secure and scalable data platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing microservices, advancing the development of the data platform, and enhancing the ingestion process and expanding C# based APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop microservices to support the data platform
  • Advance the development of the data platform, enhancing the ingestion process and expanding C# based APIs
  • Collaborate with the product team to develop digital applications handling thousands of users
  • Work alongside Cloud Engineers, backend and front-end developers to develop an event-driven Azure-hosted data platform
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and industry standards
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
  • Work closely with the Head of Software Development to ensure the successful delivery of projects

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in C# and Python programming languages
  • Experience with ORM Tools (SQL Alchemy, Django or EF Core)
  • Experience with unit testing (xUnit, pytest, React Testing Library or Jest)
  • Experience within DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Feature flag software releases
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing and Azure services
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
