Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Veritas Education Recruitment. As a Teaching Assistant for Students with Special Educational Needs, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN within a mainstream secondary environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Implement tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure the individual needs of students are met effectively.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of differentiated activities to support student progress.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Previous experience working in an SEN role, preferably within a school setting.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Strong understanding of various Special Educational Needs and associated support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting the diverse needs of students.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
As a Teaching Assistant for Students with Special Educational Needs, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and nurturing secondary school environment, working closely with both staff and students to improve learning outcomes for all.
The school is well-connected by transport links, including over and under ground, railway, and buses. This is a full-time, long-term position within a warm and welcoming environment.
