About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Ethics team as an Audit Quality Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the highest standards of audit quality and independence across our firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement audit quality initiatives to drive consistency and excellence in our audit practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams, IT, and senior stakeholders to design and implement systems for managing audit independence and conflicts of interest.
  • Manage personnel in the Ethics team and Shared Services Centre to ensure effective delivery of audit quality initiatives.
  • Perform testing and quality control processes to ensure systems meet ISQM1 requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training on audit quality and independence to the business and Shared Services Centre.
  • Work with BDO Global project teams to influence the development of systems and ensure the UK firm's view is taken into account.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in applying ethical standards or a similar regulatory framework.
  • Awareness of the ICAEW Code of Ethics and the Financial Reporting Council's Ethical Standard for auditors.
  • Understanding of complex risk management and conflicts of interest systems.
  • Experience in applying regulation and interpreting rules in a practical way.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve complex problems.
