Job Summary
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Physiologist to join our team in delivering a high-quality Neurophysiology service. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking unsupervised Clinical Neurophysiological tests on patients, interpreting results, and providing factual reports.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing routine EEG/sleep EEG recordings on adults and children as outpatients and inpatients;
- Using telemetry equipment during EEG recordings, having obtained written consent;
- Transporting portable equipment from the department to the ward to perform EEG recordings at the bedside;
- Utilizing digital EEG software to produce a detailed factual report on EEG recordings for viewing by the Consultant Neurophysiologist;
- Working autonomously in respect of standard clinical work and under supervision for more complex procedures.

Person Specification
The successful candidate will possess:
- A BSc Hons Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology or equivalent;
- Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology EPTA/ANS Board Examination Part I or working towards;
- Neurophysiology (EPTA/ANS) Board Examination Part II or working towards;
- Post-Graduate Diploma or equivalent experience;
- Member of Professional Organisation;
- Experience of supervising students or trainees;
- Practical skills needed to record routine neurophysiology tests, including electrode application of both EEG and surface EMG electrodes;
- Ability to work in challenging environments;
- Ability to work with patients with challenging or confrontational behaviour;
- Ability to organise and prioritise their own work.
