Lecturer in Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Construction to join our team at MidKent College. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality construction programmes, ensuring that students and employers receive an outstanding level of service.
Main Responsibilities- Teaching and Assessment: Deliver high-quality teaching in accordance with approved College standards, preparing teaching materials, sequences of learning, and lesson plans as required. Assess students' written and practical work, monitoring and reporting on their progress, and maintaining good order in the teaching environment.
- Course Management: Undertake day-to-day course management duties, including communication, problem-solving, diagnostic compliance, timetable checks, and amendments. Plan and coordinate work experience and enrichment activities, coordinate internal verification scheduling, and liaise with relevant departments as required.
- Student Support: Assist with the recruitment and selection of suitable candidates for courses, manage enrolment procedures effectively, and assist with the organisation and implementation of induction programmes for students. Monitor student attendance and student results, including start-of-year registers, exam entry, and attendance.
- Collaboration and Professional Development: Work with colleagues to develop courses, training methods, and materials, including attendance at Focus Days and other compulsory CPD events. Participate in peer observation for developmental purposes and ensure adherence to College policies and practices.
- Qualifications and Experience: A relevant degree and teaching qualification, with experience in delivering construction programmes and assessing student work.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices, excellent teaching and assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Personal Qualities: A passion for teaching and learning, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
