Lecturer in Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Construction to join our team at MidKent College. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, ensuring they receive an outstanding level of service.
Main Responsibilities- Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality teaching in accordance with approved College standards, preparing teaching materials, sequences of learning, and lesson plans as required. Develop and implement the revised curriculum, undertaking quality assurance in collaboration with colleagues, the quality team, and the relevant university partner.
- Course Management: Undertake day-to-day course management duties, including communication, problem-solving, diagnostic compliance, timetable checks, and amendments. Arrange and provide cover for lessons as needed, plan and coordinate work experience and enrichment activities, and coordinate internal verification scheduling.
- Student Support: Assist with the recruitment and selection of suitable candidates for courses, manage enrolment procedures effectively, and ensure students are registered on the right course at the correct level. Provide support to students, including regular one-to-one meetings, assisting with UCAS references, and guiding and directing in both academic and personal matters.
- Assessment and Quality Assurance: Monitor student attendance and student results, including start-of-year registers, exam entry, and attendance. Coordinate and administer course performance monitoring, reporting on attendance, retention, achievement, and success.
- Professional Development: Participate in relevant College meetings, groups, and committees, and quality assurance mechanisms, including verification, moderation, course reviews, and Self-Assessment Reviews (SAR). Undertake internal verification/moderation/standardization procedures for an agreed curriculum/course(s).
- Relevant teaching qualification and experience in construction education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
