Position Overview: Service Writer

The Service Writer is integral to FleetPride's operations. This role entails effectively communicating service estimates, scheduling appointments, and detailing work requirements to clients. A robust mechanical comprehension of trucks and trailers is vital, alongside the ability to convey performed tasks in a comprehensive manner. Furthermore, the position encompasses administrative responsibilities such as report preparation, managing information requests, and assisting with various office functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with customers and staff to address inquiries, clarify repair details, and arrange service appointments.
  • Support the Service Manager and Technicians with daily operational tasks.
  • Create various documents utilizing software tools such as Google Sheets and Excel.
  • Assess customer accounts and payment statuses prior to scheduling services.
  • Manage incoming communications and secure payment approvals.
  • Maintain organized filing systems, inventory records, and update databases as necessary.
  • Efficiently estimate, schedule, and invoice repair services.
  • Coordinate emergency road services, issue purchase orders, and ensure timely job completion.
  • Perform general office duties while keeping the workspace organized.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers is essential.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Experience with G-Suite, Excel, and Word is preferred.
Competencies:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven experience in customer service.
  • Ability to effectively promote FleetPride's products and services.
Work Environment:

The role involves both indoor and outdoor conditions, with exposure to varying temperatures, minimal chemical hazards, vibrations, dust, and vehicle noise.
