We are seeking a Lead Strategic Advisor to join our team.

Role Purpose

The Carat strategy team is a blend of expert skills, innovative problem-solving, and diverse experiences aimed at tackling the challenges that hinder our clients' growth potential.

Our client portfolio spans various geographies, incorporating both traditional and emerging markets, and is supported by a team of strategic experts eager to collaborate on diverse projects.

The Lead Strategic Advisor will be tasked with crafting and executing exceptional cross-disciplinary solutions that enhance the significance of media in the business strategies of our clients. This role includes expanding the depth and breadth of Carat's client partnerships, nurturing and developing strategic talent within the team, leading strategy for new business initiatives, and assisting the Head of Strategy in shaping and executing the agency's strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing robust relationships with senior global clients, assisting them in identifying and comprehending critical business challenges.
  • Engaging collaboratively with clients, providing informed insights into the evolving media landscape, and showcasing Carat's integral role within a cohesive communication strategy.
  • Utilizing econometrics, business analytics, and historical campaign insights to formulate, refine, and implement media guidelines.
  • Ensuring optimal use of insights and planning tools on client briefs to facilitate business-focused planning across the media spectrum.
  • Generating innovative ideas, media partnerships, and advancements aligned with the communication strategy, collaborating with various Dentsu teams.
  • Crafting responses and strategic guidance for global client briefs to ensure exemplary thinking and consistency across markets.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of Dentsu's offerings and product pipeline to uncover growth opportunities while defining strategic direction for clients.
  • Leading a thought leadership initiative that merges cutting-edge marketing theories with practical applications and measurable business impact.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members in all facets of planning and strategy.
  • Overseeing strategy for new business pitches for Carat and the Dentsu media service line.
  • Driving Carat's strategy training agenda, leveraging Dentsu's strengths and creating new training modules as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Strategy to define the structure, roles, competency frameworks, and career progression pathways for the strategy team.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across various cultures and regions to advance strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional persuasive skills and the ability to effectively communicate ideas and strategies to both new and existing clients.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing talent from a wide array of disciplines and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated success in advising senior clients on the strategic direction of their communications and its impact on business value.
  • Exemplary strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to articulate innovative ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong grasp of the media's role in delivering business value for contemporary brands, coupled with cultural awareness and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with media and communications planning tools and methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various sources for market, consumer, and media intelligence.
  • Proven experience in developing insights, measurement, and evaluation projects.
  • Background in formulating marketing and communications strategies for multi-market clients, with a track record of aligning diverse countries with overarching strategies while respecting local nuances.
