We are seeking a Lead Strategic Advisor as part of Carat .

Role Purpose

The Carat strategy team integrates expert skills, innovative problem-solving, and a diverse array of experiences to identify and tackle the challenges that hinder our clients from achieving optimal growth and profitability.

Our client portfolio encompasses a wide geographic reach, blending both traditional and emerging growth markets, and features strong strategic talent eager to collaborate on various projects.

The Lead Strategic Advisor is tasked with crafting and executing exceptional cross-disciplinary solutions that enhance the significance of media in the business strategies of the clients in their portfolio. This role involves expanding the depth and breadth of Carat's collaboration with these clients, nurturing and developing the strategic talent within their team, leading strategy for new business proposals, and assisting the Head of Strategy in establishing and executing the strategic agenda for the agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivating robust relationships with senior global clients, assisting them in identifying and comprehending the critical challenges their businesses face.
  • Engaging collaboratively with clients, sharing insights into the evolving media landscape, and showcasing Carat's role within an integrated communication framework.
  • Utilizing econometrics, business analytics, and historical campaign insights to formulate, refine, and implement media guidelines.
  • Ensuring the effective and appropriate application of insights and planning tools on client briefs to facilitate business-outcome-focused planning across the media ecosystem.
  • Generating innovative ideas, media partnerships, and advancements based on the communications strategy, collaborating with various Dentsu specialties and teams.
  • Developing responses and guidance for strategic and campaign briefs from global clients to ensure top-tier thinking and global consistency.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of Dentsu's strengths, products, and product pipeline to identify additional growth opportunities while formulating strategic direction for the client.
  • Establishing and driving a thought leadership agenda that merges cutting-edge marketing theory with practical application and commercial impact.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members on all facets of planning and strategy.
  • Leading strategy for new business pitch responses for Carat as well as the Dentsu media service line.
  • Taking ownership of Carat's strategy training agenda, leveraging Dentsu's best practices where applicable and creating new initiatives as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the head of strategy to define the structure of the strategy team, job specifications, competency frameworks, and career progression pathways.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Proficient in engaging with multiple stakeholders across diverse companies, cultures, and countries to influence agendas effectively.
  • Strong capabilities in persuading and presenting ideas and strategies to both new and existing clients.
  • Experienced in mentoring and developing individuals from various disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to work with clients at a senior level, advising on the strategic direction of their communications and its capacity to deliver business value.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking skills with the ability to articulate (both written and verbal) strategic and innovative concepts with clarity and simplicity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the role of media in generating business value for contemporary brands.
  • Cultural awareness, analytical capabilities, and an insatiable curiosity.
  • Familiarity with media and communications planning tools and processes.
  • Strong comprehension of various sources for market, consumer, and media intelligence.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and developing insights, measurement, and evaluation projects.
  • Experience in formulating marketing and communications strategies for multi-market clients, with a proven ability to align multiple countries behind strategies while maintaining local nuances.
