HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed to fulfill operational requirements.

SALARY: £13.50 per hour

A position has become available for a Waste Management Equipment Operator to join our team.

The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the handling and transportation of sludge within wastewater treatment facilities. The successful candidate will oversee the operation of the plant, adjust operational parameters, conduct fault checks, and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Flexibility is essential, as travel between various sites may be required to meet operational demands. Working hours may also fluctuate based on the needs of the operations. Adhering to safe working practices and maintaining high operational standards is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Loadall telehandler to load vehicles with processed waste.
  • Manage waste stock into windrows and maintain these areas or transfer to storage facilities.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections on mobile machinery.
  • Clean mobile equipment as necessary.
  • Document product movements accurately.
  • Maintain standards on storage pads and ensure drainage systems are clear.
  • Complete additional tasks as trained and qualified.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong understanding of site safety protocols.
  • NPORS certification for Loadall telehandler operation.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • High standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Reliable timekeeping and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues and clients.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
