Software Engineer - C/C++ - Linux - Real Time - Contract

Meritus Talent is partnering with a leading defence organisation to recruit a skilled Software Engineer for a contract role. The initial contract duration is 6 months, with potential extensions.

Job Overview:

You will be part of a small, multi-disciplinary team working on complex technical projects, utilising a wide range of technologies and engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and implement software items for the Hardware In The Loop (HWIL) facility, including mathematical models, input/output interfaces, and data analysis software.
  2. Work with varied engineering teams to integrate hardware and software components.
  3. Develop software using C, C++, or similar languages, with a focus on real-time systems and Linux environments.
  4. Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  5. Contribute to the development of Linux PC-based toolsets to support HWIL simulations.

Requirements:

  1. Strong software development skills, ideally with experience in C, C++, or similar languages.
  2. Experience working in Linux environments and real-time systems.
  3. Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  4. Ability to work with varied engineering teams and collaborate effectively.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Experience integrating hardware and software components.
  2. Knowledge of multi-threaded software development and driver-level software development.
  3. Understanding of real-time computing systems and mathematical modelling concepts.
  4. Ability to visualise and analyse complex systems.

Clearance Requirements:

BPSS and SC Clearance is required for this role.
